THE
BLACK STATUE OF LIBERTY
(Hello everyone! Long time no see or hear!!
Wish I could have been apart of your little world. I guess there was no
room for me. Anyway, I'm writing to give you the information that we
spoke of several months ago at Uncle Leon's favorite eatery,
concerning that the original Statue of Liberty was a Black Woman.
Remember Matt, when you asked if I could provide proof?
Well, here it is without further ado. You all have a nice
time and just think about me when something comes up and/or open. Oh,
by-the-way, please read this in its entirety
before you cast judgment, or decides to dismiss
this and not finish reading it. Give me that much respect, okay!!??)
In 1798, Napoleon Bonaparte
stated that history was only "a lie agreed upon." Nothing
could be more illustrative than the history of the Statue of Liberty
originally called "Liberty Enlightening the World." The
liberation of African American slaves was the only inspiration for the
creation of a Statue of Liberation for Edouard Rene LeFebvre DeLaboulaye. He recruited a young
sculptor, Frederick Auguste
Bartholdi, to create
a Black Female slave statue holding a broken chain in her left hand and with
broken chains of slavery at her feet.
The official web site of the Statue of Liberty states that
the statue was given to the people of the United
States by the people of France
as an expression of friendship and to commemorate the centennial of American
Independence (1776). The Encyclopedia Britannica states Bartholdi designed the
Statue of Liberty as a monument to the Franco-American
alliance of 1778. These are absolute and total lies!!! Edouard Rene LeFebvre DeLaboulaye, an
internationally renowned lawyer and author of a
three-volume history of the United States,
first discussed the idea of a symbol to represent the end of U.S.
slavery at a dinner party in 1865 at his country home near Versailles,
France. In
attendance at the dinner party were many abolitionists
including Victor Hugo and Frederick Auguste Bartholdi, who had initially been retained to
create a sculptured bust of Mr. DeLaboulaye.
Victor Hugo and Edouard
DeLaboulaye were
leaders of the French abolitionist movement. They hated slavery and
were in strong support of John Brown when he attempted to arm slaves in West
Virginia for rebellion by raiding the armory of Harpers
Ferry in 1859. After John Brown failed and was hanged,
Hugo and DeLaboulaye
took up a collect among the French people and presented a gold metal to John Brown's widow.
After Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United
States in 1861, the French liberals and abolitionists including Hugo, Bartholdi, and DeLaboulaye urged Lincoln
to free the slaves even if civil war resulted. Lincoln
was told: "You would become the first country in history to have fought
a war against itself to free the internal slave and you would go down in
history as a truly great country and a beacon of light to all freedom loving people." The French abolitionists saw
the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 as a worthless piece of paper since it
only freed slaves in the Confederate controlled
states where Lincoln was still in
authority. When the war ended in 1865, French abolitionists were extremely
happy and in addition to again urging Lincoln
to free all
slaves, DeLaboulaye
and Bartholdi again
headed the abolitionists' committee that presented
a gold metal to Mrs. Lincoln just as he had done for the widow of John Brown.
In addition to a staunch abolitionist, Frederick Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) was an outstanding
French sculptor. Bartholdi
trained to be an architect in Alsace
and Paris and then studied
painting with Ary Scheffer and sculpture with J>F> Soitoux. Bartholdi's life and ideas changed
dramatically after 1855 when he toured Egypt
and witnessed the magnificent colossal monuments and statues created by the
ancient Black Egyptians. Bartholdi's
creation of a giant Black ex-slave female with broken chains at her feet and
left hand was readily accepted in France.
Although liberals, freemasons, and businessmen
with American interests were against the project, by 1881 some 100,000 people
and 181 towns throughout France
had contributed money.
In 1871, Frederick Bartholdi at the urging of DeLaboulaye undertook a voyage to America
to sale his idea of a colossal statue clearly symbolizing the end of chattel
slavery in the United
States. He was armed with a large terra-cotta statue and numerous drawings to clearly
illustrate his proposed Statue of Liberty. The original model of the
Statue of Liberty with the broken chains in her hand and on her feet and with African facial features is still available for viewing at the Museum of the City of
New York --- located at Fifth Avenue and 103rd. Street. The original
African face of the Statue of Liberty was also published in the New York Post
dated June 17, 1986 as
part of the centennial celebration. Bartholdi found little American
support for his African slave model. In 1878, as the African head of
Miss Liberty first went on display at the Universal Exposition in Paris,
France, rampant
reaction raged throughout the American South.
Bartholdi
finally had to abandon his original ideas and changed the Statue of Liberty
to the features we are now familiar with. The African face was re sculptured into a face of his Mother Madame Bartholdi!!! A tablet
of law tucked into her folded arm that bears the date July 4, 1776 replaced the broken chains in the slave's left hand. Ironically, the chains were
left at her feet but the meaning changed from broken American
slavery to broken English tyranny.
On May 18, 1986
during the centennial celebration, The New York Times joined The New York
Post in describing the original Statue of DeLaboulaye and Bartholdi in presenting this statue to America.
It's unconscionable that the Encyclopedia Britannica and the official Statue
of Liberty literature can still lie and say
that this is a monument celebrating American Independence of 1776 and/or the Franco-American alliance of 1778. Dr. Jack
Felder sums it up clearly: "Once in place, Miss Liberty received a new
meaning. She was hailed as the 'Mother of White Exiles' greeting
European immigrants seeking freedom in America.
Nothing in the original conceptions of Bartholdi or DeLaboulaye envisioned this role for their
statue."

Thank
you for sharing this information about the "Black Statue of Liberty". Yes, I appreciate the
liberating truth!
The
power has always been in our hands, most simply did not realize it and we
have and continue to have so many who do not have the moral foundation, the
tenacity and ability to lead a people who have been targeted for
annihilation. More often, they want to “get paid”.
We must
build Black Solidarity, if we are to attain sustainable and full economic
empowerment. This is the opposite of assimilation. That model is
dead and must now be buried.
We must
drop and stop using the phrase, "not
in my lifetime but my children's". Black
Solidarity will
happen in our lifetime. Black economic empowerment,
through solidarity, will happen now. Of that, I am certain because we have thought
and envisioned it and, therefore, bring forth the actions to make it a
reality. That is the god-force within Black men and women.
Upon
the backs of Africans, America was built in record time to
become the most powerful nation on earth. We will now build our own economic
tower of power in blinding speed. No,
it will not be one built upon the enslavement of others and by the shackling
of the souls of men, women and children seasoned with treachery and hypocrisy.
How will we do this? By focusing on our single greatest strength
in "Regions 1-5"
(Africa) with capital (money) injection
from the single greatest strength from "Region 6" (African Diaspora).
What
many have stated was impossible is quickly becoming reality. In
the essence of blackness is the power to envision it and then make it
happen. It is not about making it happen for the “leader” on Sunday
mornings but about making it happen for all, for the Black Universe, small
and great. The “first heaven” for all
of us is right here, not “on the other shore” or in the “circle in the
sky”. It is not about the best, the
gifted, the well educated, the most articulate, or the prettiest “getting paid” but about being a servant. I have no doubt as to what we will
accomplish in record time. The path is already there, as the power of
the oppressor is being broken by the same ancient force that made folly of
the pompous and “all powerful”. We know this to be true because that
was once us; people of our genome.
Solidarity
is being built at the grassroots
level within the Black Universe all over the world. In fact, when the
Investor Class observe that which they thought they had under lock and key
pulling out the chief cornerstone upon which their power and prestige stands,
they will come running offering this and offering that. The Black Universe, the sleeper, the father
and mother of all shall restore itself to its place as it was in the
beginning.
"Blackness", be it ones
complexion or the black oil, is a blessing, not a curse. The economic predators'
power of suggestion is being broken. PhD “Bo Bo”
will no longer repeat what he was taught in the halls of mis-education
that oil is Africa’s curse, instead oil is Africa’s blessing. We must persistently focus on "Blackness", the source of
strength. The chain of religion (wine) which
has encouraged millions of you to hold out and be patient, hoping that White
America and Europe will be "born
again", is being broken. The oppressor can no longer measure
out “barley and wheat” to appease, deceive and buyoff. He can no longer secure stolen power
through the use of that which was stolen to set brother against brother, and
male against female so that he may feast upon their riches. The overseers, the lords of that tool and
that “sign” of conquering and dominion have achieved failing grades as we
give witness to the pitiful state of affairs with Black America, Africa and
the rest of the African Diaspora. The Black Church, National Urban League, NAACP,
SCLC, PUSH, etc. have failed in the quest for assimilation, a bad ideology
that has caused a loss of self, of culture, and of integrity. Today, we see the results of the false stoned liberty standing in the
harbor of the minds of millions of Blacks. They have rejected it. It was pursuit on a dead-ending path. The chains of ignorance and blindness of
our strength is being shattered.
The
realization of the oppressors' greatest weakness is becoming evident and we know their greatest weakness is our greatest strength.
We will embrace the "oil". We will invest through our own private
investment groups.
We must
never forget anyone but embrace the willing spirits, no matter how
small. Stay tuned.........
Sincerely,
T. West
